I wholeheartedly recommend the Golden West Tennis Academy. I have worked side
by side with Big Steve Johnson and Chuck Kingman several times and have known
them a long while and have always been impressed with their knowledge of our
sport and their dedication to their players and the number of top juniors they have
produced. Great guys. Solid guys. Dedicated and hardworking guys. A winning
academy. Their players improve and they all have a good time on their tennis

Great tennis news is now just around the corner with the collaboration of tennis coaches Steve Johnson and Chuck Kingman at the Golden West Tennis Academy. This is like when Mick Jagger got together with Keith Richards to take the Rolling Stones to the heights of Rock and Roll greatness. To have two coaches of this caliber, wisdom, passion, expertise and experience will rock the soul of tennis in California and beyond.
Boise State Men’s Tennis Coach
We have been coached by Chuck for almost 20 years; he first worked regularly with us, then also taught our children from a very young age. Chuck is an outstanding technical coach who excels at breaking down tennis strokes into simple, easy-to-understand components. His practice drills are perfect for improving these skills and conditioning. Equally important is Chuck's ability to motivate, mentor, and make it fun. He became an important and effective mentor to both of our children, not only in playing tennis, but also giving them a robust and effective mental framework for any competitive sport. Chuck is a kind, wise, motivating person, and working with him has been - and continues to be - an inspiring experience for our entire family.

My son, Andrew, has had the privilege of working with Chuck since he started playing tennis three years ago. Andrew has learned solid fundamental skills and has been progressing in his game while playing for Los Alamitos High School, as he was honored as the LAHS JV Doubles MVP and won the Sunset League JV Doubles Championship last year (2014). Chuck has an amazing way of connecting with kids, drawing out their strengths and inspiring them to overcome their challenges, making it fun all the while. He has been an invaluable resource, training and challenging players in all aspects of their game, including their conditioning as well as mental readiness in competition. Chuck has been a consistent role model and inspiration to my son on and off the court. He has shown Andrew genuine concern as a tennis player, an athlete, a student and a person, and I wholeheartedly recommend Chuck and his tennis program at Golden West Tennis Academy.
Chuck taught my two kids since they were five years old and provided many of the fundamentals to get nationally ranked. I'd recommend him to people of all levels.
